Dear all, I am also a descendent of the Northumbria NURSE family. My grandfather was called William Nurse - married to Lillian Nurse nee Randal/Reynolds. They lived in South Yorkshire. I was born in Ireland - my father was called Thomas - he has a brother Michael and 2 sisters. I know all my cousins in Yorkshire but have found it difficult to get information on where my grandfather's brothers and sisters lived.

Any help would be appreciated.

Caroline

Hi all you lovely NURSE family I am new to this website and saw a reply post regarding my post. Re Lillian my grandmother. She remarried and is the wife of William who wanted to come to see me in Ireland - but passed away before he could travel. So it looks like I am related to some of you. Went to North Norfolk and saw the graveyards there. Also went to Norwich cathedral and found a few NURSE names in there.

Do you think they could have got his name wrong?

That is a possibility. I am clutching at straws here. My son  somehow got hold of the photo some years ago, I imagine when he was on holiday in Norfolk and it has just come to light again in a box of old photos.
My wife's Nurse connection is from Weybourne (Anthony Couzens Nurse was her Gt Grandfather). Not too far  from Great Ellingham.
Unfortunately the website which I have used for tracing the Nurses (Donald Family) seems to be out of action at present, hence this tentative enquiry.
Thanks for the info.
