MacLeod/McLeod Stornoway Caithness

Alexander MacLeod born 1864 married Catherine Clyne in Wick 1886.
I have,thanks to all the help from those at rootschat,loads of info on the Clynes.
I am a bit stuck on Alexander MacLeod.His parents may have been Kenneth McLeod and Isabella Sutherland but I can not cross ref. this with a census check as I cannot find Kenneth or Alexander on the census records I found on the web.
I want to go back in time but cannot until I resolve the parentage of Alexander.
Can anyone assist please? Thanks Sinclair

Hi Sinclair, think I have found your family on the 1871 census for Wick, at 43 Dempster Street. 
Kenneth Macleod, Isabella Sutherland and family, including Alexander. 
There is a birth in Stornoway, of Alexander Macleod to Kenneth Macleod and Isabella SUTHERTON (probably a mistake), 14th June, 1864.  This is included in a Batch Series, but you should be able to get this birth certificate on ScotlandsPeople.  Only thing, there's about 6 Alexander Macleods born in 1864, so it might be an expensive exercise for you

James Mc Leod Son Scholar  U 7 Wick
Jessie Mc Leod Dau 5 F Wick

You should be able to get Kenneth Macleod and Isabella Sutherland's death certificates on SP, which should give their parents.

Hi I have a census 1881 showing Kenneth McLeod a tailor, as head of family married to Isabella McLeod (new Sutherland) with son John son, Alexander, son Adam, daughter Isabella, daughter Elizabeth, son James and daughter Jessie all living at 60 Argyle square, Puttneytown Wick. Kenneth and Isabella moved from the Isle of Lewis I think from Tong eldest son John was born on Lewis but I am unable to find birth record. John too was a tailor.
