QUIRKE and O'DONOUGHUE/ DONOHUE? from Milltown
« on: Thursday 29 September 05 23:50 BST (UK) »
Timothy Quirke and Bridget or Ellen O'Donoughue were from Milltown, County Kerry They had a daughter Honora. Don't know about other siblings. Honora was born circa 1854.

I would appreciate any help in trying to glean more information about this family. Thanks.

Hi, just wondering which Milltown your people were from? Milltown in mid-Kerry (between Killorglin and Castlemaine) or Milltown just outside of Dingle? If in mid-Kerry, there are still some Quirkes around.

Could you help me identify the Milltown of my Quirks?  Michael was born in 1811 and identified himself as "a native of Milltown" - of his 12 children, the first three were born in Ireland and baptized in Knuckglassmore, Annascaul (as were the first children of his brother Timothy) - Michael, his parents, and his siblings emigrated to Ontario, Canada, in 1842 -
Thank you
