I thought i might add some more info for your connections... it seems my grandfather William Crozier was born at 37 New St. Duntocher

His mom, my great grandmother Agnes Sweenie or Crozier died tragically in 1897:

Agnes Crozier, married to Robert Crozier, store keeper, died 19 March 1897 at
61 William Street, Duntocher aged 28.
Daughter of William Sweenie, stoker and Agnes Tennant (sic) – maiden
surname.
Cause: puerperal fever 25 days: septic pneumonia 7 days.
Informant: Robert Crozier, widower.

My father, Jim Crozier is the only surviving son of William Crozier and Catherine Renton

Doing some research and came across this post and thought I might add some family history if I may.

My great grandfather John McCUE was living at 37 New Street Duntocher in 1911. From the census and war records;

McCUE John (48) Sewing Machine Builder
McCUE Margaret (45)
McCUE Thomas (19) Sewing Machine Builder - Killed in WW1
McCUE John (17) Plater's Helper Shipyards - Killed in WW1
McCUE Mary (14)
McCUE Elizabeth (6)
McCUE Margaret (2)

The family moved to Duntocher from Glasgow. Elizabeth and Margaret were born in Duntocher. Margaret was my grandmother.

With reference to other posts in this topic there is some relationship to Gallachers and Dochertys from the Dunbarton area.

Hi Jim

I have McLaffertys in my family tree from Duntocher but not done much research on them. My G Grandmother was a Janet McLafferty - more detail on my website:  http://fornhelper.tribalpages.com/tribe/browse?userid=fornhelper&view=9&ver=762

If anyone has any info on this branch of McLafferty's it would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
