Not sure of his age John but his baptism was 1834 at St Marys Reading and he was baptised same day with two other brothers.

In the England 1861 census.
I checked for you, nothing listed for Richard Flower b 1834 +/-2 yrs, Reading, Berks.
Only Richard N Flower b 1806 Reading, Occupier of Houses, living Devonshire Place London, if this is of interest let me know and I'll go back for the reference.

Thanks Newbie,
What I have from 1851 census is;
1851 census
Shinfield, Berkshire
John FLOWERS, head, married, age 57, born Reading, Berkshire, Cow keeper
Eliza FLOWERS, married, wife, age 55, born Reading, Berkshire
Richard Thomas FLOWERS, unmarried, son, age 20, born Reading St Mary,
Berkshire, Cow keeper
James FLOWERS, unmarried, son, age 15, born Reading St Mary, Berkshire,
Cow keeper

which looks as though Richard Thomas was born around 1831.

Richard N. FLOWER(S) 1805 was his uncle.

1 Thomas FLOWERS b 1834 Shoreditch,
2 Richard FLOWERS  - several born 1833, Stepney Middx, Portsea Hants, St.Georges Middx.
3 Thomas Flowers, b 1836 Hurst Berkshire

FLOWER, Thomas  b 1828, Windsor.
FLOWER, Richard, b 1815 Wendron, Berkshire.   checked image,  looks like should be Windsor.  living at Christchurch with his family.  do you want the rest of the details for this one?

It pays to look at what detail you have newbie ......... and I did just that;
From a letter written by his uncle Richard N to New Zealand in 1859 it says;
Your Cousin Richard desires his love to all, he is doing very well,  he is a Clerk in the Cheif Office at the Birmingham Railway, he married a young person from Bath, a Coachmakers daughter.
So it is likely that he was in Birmingham for 1861 census.
His wife was named 'Mary' from Somerset or Dorset.

tried using Richard FLO* b 1834 +/- 5 yrs. b Berkshire
nothing obvious.
tried using Richard ****  b 1834 =/- 5yrs b Berskhire reading, again nothing, nothing looking for resident in Warwickshire either.
1 richard WALLACE, b 1834 Reading, but checked image and it def says Wallace, and he's a groom. residence - Birmingham.

I can't see him Joboy,
have to go now but will check back later and see if anyone else has had a go,
