Long Shot

Hi All

As the heading implies this is a long shot. My Grandfather who was born and brought up in Bethnal Green, London joined the Argyle and Sutherland Highlanders during WW1. I have no other information about his service apart from this.  My mother remembers seeing a picture of him hanging on his wall with him in his kilt. His name was George Henry Smith.

Any help much appreciated.

Have you checked the on line medal cards at the National Archives.That will give you details of medals awarded. It may only be the usual three but you never know,there may be a bravery award. Always worth checking.
