Walking backwards
« on: Wednesday 05 October 05 00:32 BST (UK) »
While posting a reply to the "interesting and unusual jobs" thread, about my ropemaker ancestors, I decided to start this thread..

Ropemakers worked in long sheds, twisting twine into rope as they walked backwards.

Are there other occupations which entailed walking backwards? (or, indeed, sideways, or hanging upside down?)

I would be interested to hear about any other unusual work positions (no, not that sort of position!)

Philip
