This particular Clayton was a Romany Gypsy and mostly they didn't seem to bother registering the birth of their children.....I did hope however that in Derbyshire they did things different  :D

Thank y'all.......

Hi

Its still worthwhile posting on the look up board. I live in Nottingham but these areas are on the Notts/Derbys border close to where I am. The resources I have for Notts cover lots of non internet BMDs so the Derbys brigade will have the equivalent.

I take it that you are not local from your 1st posting.

Is there a possibility this could be William, who in 1891 is listed with/near to
your Francis.

1881 RG11/3024 Aston Warwickshire Pg 94 Sch 19
Clayton WILLIAM     60   Basket Maker  Monk Kirby Warwickshire
"    Jenny                 50     "                    Northampton  ...?
Smith  Ellen    dau   25      "                   Sutton Derbys
"      James Son In Law  23                    Birmingham
Clayton Mary   Dau   19   Hawker          Tamworth, Staffs.

Have you found any of the people listed in 1891 on any other census?
