Looking for Susanna Garforth b abt 1819 in Hull.  Fathers name Thomas Garforth mother is Elizabeth. 

Susannah was in Leeds in 1840.  So anything Pre that date would be useful.

I found some Garforths that lived in Howden in the 16th Century on a CD of ERY parish records.  There are about 6 of them.  Are you interested?  I know you have not gotten that far back but thought I would ask.

ummm! it's tempting but i'll just confuse myself i think  lol

Her father was born in Bramhope and her mother came from Otley.  I think Susannah had a son called William who, on the  1871 Census is stated as being born in Whitby but i can't find his birth records  there.  There is a William Garforth born the same year as mine on the 1881 Census but his place of birth is Sickinghall nr Harrogate...I,m hoping to get into Leeds next week to pick up some certs.  The longer i leave it tho...the more i add to my list

So it's egg and chips for tea again!  lol

In the 1817 Hull directory there is a Joseph Garforth, solicitor, and William Garforth, grocer.
Godden in East Sussex, mainly Hastings area.
Richards in Lea, Gloucestershire, then London.
Williamson in Leith, Vickers in Nottingham.
Webb in Bildeston and Colchester.
Wesbroom in Kirby le Soken.
Ellington in Harwich.
Park, Palmer, Segar and Peartree in Kersey.

Umm! wonder where those two fit in to the story.  Thanks for that.  I'll add them to my Garforths database.

I'm still trying to track Susannah down and every little bit of information helps.
