Sorry Chris what  I meant was my 2 x great grandfather John fewings not your John. fewings

I am wondering if my John and William Henry were brothers or cousins? It's just finding that link between the two.

I think you will find that John is the "family name"
There is a Davey buried in his grave, I'll try and find out the christian name

My John had two children William and Maria that I am sure are his but I'm still dubious about Nathaniel Dart Fewings being his son as Ann was a widow when he was baptised in September 1837 and the 4 John Fewings deaths registered in 1837 don't appear to be the right John.

I really need to find out why Nathaniel was named Dart I think and take it from there. I can't find anything about his mother's family so that's also been a stumbling block.

Hi everyone.  Newby here.  Does anyone have any information on Ann Fewings/Fewins? She was born 1739, and died 1826 in North Tawton. She married Richard Drake on 30 Oct 1765 in North Tawton Devon.  I have been unable to find any info about their history or even parents so my line pretty much stops with Ann and Richard.  Any info would be hugely appreciated...  Thanks heaps!!

Hi agentx20

I do not have info directly on Ann Fewings but I also have a Fewing ancestor in North Tawton at this time, James Fewings, a woolcomber. Father to James Gowman born 1777 .

My James is possible son of another James and his wife Rose, he was born 1750 at Oakmonkhamstead and died 1817 at Hatherleigh, Devon. Also born to James and Rose were Arminal 1747 and Simon poss 1753. Might be a connection there somewhere?

You are so lucky finding Fewings/ Fewins ancestors I wish I could. There's no records available to pinpoint the area my 2x great grandfather came from so I'm at an impasse.

Records for North Tawton are available via the OPC for the parish who offers free look-ups. See http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/NorthTawton/index.html and scroll downto 'genealogy' for the link.
