I am trying to locate the parents of Henry Robson who was born in approximately 1855 In Newcastle. He married in the March quarter of 1875 Gateshead, Durham to Isabella Foster, daughter of Alexander Foster and Mary. I have information on the family of this couple from the 1881, 1891 & 1901 census.
The closest match I have found to Henry's parents is an entry in the IGI for a Henry Elmer Robson, baptised on 31/12/1854 at St John's Parish, Newcastle Upon Tyne (recorded as Henry Ann Robson on Free BMD and Henry Alma Robson in the Newcastle BMD index). Only his mother's name, Elizabeth, is recorded, which may indicate that his father has died only months earlier. This seems to be supported by two earlier baptism entries in the IGI for an Elizabeth Robson (baptised 19.10.1851 St John's Parish) and Philip Robson (baptised 18.2.1849 St John's Parish). Parents for these children are recorded as Philip Robson and Elizabeth.
Could someone please look up the family of Philip and Elizabeth Robson in the 1851 census for Newcastle please? I would also like the family located in the 1861 census, but I suspect at this time that Philp is dead and Elizabeth would be head of the household.

The nearest I can find on the 1851 is this:

Westgate, Newcastle
Philip Robson, 39, traveller, b. Alston
Elizabeth, 38, b. Durham, Heworth
Isabella, 5, b. Newcastle
Philip, 2, b. Newcastle
I can't find a family that matches you description on the 1861. There's a Philip of the right age and birthplace as the brother living in Gorton, Manchester as a lodger and a number of Henry's in the Newcastle/Co Durham area but none with a mother Elizabeth, either alone or with a Philip and so far not even a remarried one.
I hope someone else can join in the search as I'm away for most of the day.

Do you have the marriage certificate as this would give information about his father and his occupation which would help in the search.

Have we got 1871 for Henry? He married Isabella in Gateshead in 1875 and was a coal miner born Newcastle, so this looks like the most likely candidate:

I think as Gadget said, you need the marriage certificate to find Henry's father's name and occupation

We have obtained the marriage certificate for Henry Robson and Isabella Forster. The certficate shows that Henry's father is Robert Robson who married Anna and their children were on the 1871 census;
Joseph son age 27 a Mason, Northumberland Newcastle
Mary J dau age 23 s Northumberland Newcastle
Henry son age 17 s Miner Northumberland Newcastle
Robert grandson age 2 Northumberland Newcastle
Ellen granddau age 1 Durham Gateshead
Can someone please look this family up in the 1851 and 1861 census and provide as much information as possible, thanks.
