The 'Shiprow Chapel' was originally a 'chapel of ease' attached to the
East parish of the Church of Scotland. At 'The Disruption' of 1843, all
but a handful of members broke away when the Free Church was founded,
and the church building was sold to them.

Subsequent re-groupings of the various sects saw it become the 'Union
United Free Church'.
