Len,

The only bit of genealogically useful information is the couple's full Hebrew names.

Line 4:   Rokhl Leah bat Yitschak Rozendorn
Line 5:   Alek bar Yehuda Broy-eh

I shall continue with the rest.

Justin

that's as clear as it gets justine, nothing is more difficult than trying to capture pixel information from headstones.

we post the pic as large as we dared so others who have the wherewithall, might be able to manipulate

could you furher explain you translations of line 4 & 5 please?

you are doing great.

Hi Len,
Not sure whether this helps at all - I've fiddled a bit with the levels.

I asked an Orthodox Jewish friend to have a go at this and she says the following:

****************

Zot Matzevat
This is the headstone of

Eshet Chayil Akeret Baalah
A woman of valour and family mainstay

Hee haishah hatsnuah hayekorah
She was a modest/upright and loved wife.

MeRochel Leah bat Reb Yitschok Rozendorn z''l (short for Zichronah levrachah)
(of) Rochel Leah daughter of Reb Yitschok (or Isaac) Rozendorn may his memory be blessed

Eshet Reb Alek bar Yehuda Brauer
Wife of Reb Alek son of Yehuda Brauer (anyway, that's how I'd spell it)

Bishnat Mem tav hai alai rochel lamed pei kuf
In the year 445 of Alei Rachel... I'm not sure what the rest of the line means. The initials look like something I've seen at the Chevra, but I can't place them. Alei Rachel might be a shule or community, perhaps.

Vechol yemei chayeha hayoo shivim ooshnaim shanah
And all the years of her her life were 72

Tav Nun Tsaddee Beis Hei
Another set of initials I don't recognise.

Sounds like it, doesn't it?  Valourous, upright, a mainstay, devoted, fond, faithful - It suggests somebody strong and possibly rather managing but warm and kind.
