Garret F.McLain: Who's your first wife name?

My Great Grandfather had a first wife but no one knows anything about her, only that they had 2 girls together. Who are they? are they still in the USA? maybe you know.. Did he divorces her, before he married Emily and they had my Grandfather Gordon.
Garret and Emily lived in Canada and not the USA.

The 1910 Census says the couple have been married once for 3 years and have no children. Garret cook at restaurant and Rose cook at hotel.

WW1 Draft for Garret Fabin McLain born 22 January 1874 mentions Ambrose McLain as the nearest relative who will always know him. Dated September 12 th 1918.

Garrett Mcclain./ Born 1874 Millington. Michigan crosses the border usa to Canada 25 th October 1919  - aged 45 years. Married.  Looking for work. Arrival Port: Fort Frances, Ontario
Last permanent address Int Falls Mission - 3 rd St. Had lived in Canada previously, entered at Fort Frances Nov 1918 and left April 1919.

There is a 1911 death for a Rose McClain in Hubbard County, Minnesota whose father's name was John Bahr. The transcript says she was married but the space for her husband's name is blank:

There is a birth in Koochiching County, Minnesota for an unnamed McClain whose mother's maiden surname was Bohr listed at the Minnesota Archives. The index doesn't say whether the child was a boy or girl but the birth date was 3 Jan 1911. International Falls, Minnesota is in Koochiching County.
