Greetings,
Here is another enquiry about Oxford Alumni:
Isaac Lodington, matriculated with an M.A. from Magdalen College, Oxford. Died 18 October 1729.
He was ordained as Deacon of Buckden, Huntingdonshire on 29 May 1681
He was ordained as Priest of Buckden, Huntingdonshire on 3 June 1683
He was Vicar of St. Mary's, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire from 26 August 1683 until his death
I am hoping his Oxford records indicate who his parents are.
Many other Lodingtons also went to Oxford, most became clergyman and some became barristers. Any notes on those would also be welcomed.
Regards,
James R. Yeowell.

Hi James,
Your Isaac Lodington attended Cambridge rather than Oxford.
Here are his details:
Adm: MAGDALENE, May 7, 1675.
Son of of John, clerk, deceased.
Born at Washingborough, Lincs.
School, Lincoln.
Matriculated in 1675; B.A. 1678-9; M.A. 1682. Fellow, 1679.
Ord. priest (Lincoln) June 3, 1683.
Vicar of Aylesbury, Bucks., 1688-1729.
He died 1729.
Ther are plenty of other Lodington men mentioned in Cambs - 16 actually from 1600's thru 1800's :D
Do you want details of all of them?

The Cambridge Alumni can be seen at:

Nearly all the information can be seen for free by placing the curser on "view record"

Thanks, both of you.
I am not sure why I said Magdalen College, Oxford, when I know quite well I meant Cambridge! I know there were other Lodingtons at other Cambridge Colleges, besides just Magdalen.
Rev. Isaac Lodington is my direct ancestor and I didn't have his parents details, so thanks. I am sure he had brothers too. I am hoping to find a link to Stephen Lodington, D.D.
Regards,
James R. Yeowell.

Hi all, I have found that my 3Xgreat grandfather was a deacon at Chapel in the Episcopal Palace in 1809. His name was Luke Valentine Davis. It also states he went to Oxford University. and also St Albans College. Is ther any photographic memories available of either Luke or perhaps the church he was at. The Bishop at this time was George Pretyman(-Tomline)
Any information (Or Pictures) would be gratefully accepted. One last thing.. I have found out he died in 1841, can we find out where he was buried. Thankyou in advance
