Title: Toxteth Cemetery
Post by: Kitch on Tuesday 03 January 06 14:42 GMT (UK)
Does anyone know if there is an online plan of Toxteth Cemetery (Smithdown Rd) Liverpool?
Any help would be appreciated as I have the plot number etc of the grave but as the cemetery is so large it's quite a daunting task to go exploring!!
Happy New Year to all.

Hi Kitch,

I had a similar problem, but there is a small office (or there was when I visited the cemetery - near the Smithdown road entrance) which has books etc pinpointing graves/plots. If you have the number I am sure they will direct you.

Regards

Thank you very much Quarryman. I did actually find a plan of the cemetery but it was very poor.
I shall be going to look for my nan and grandad's grave as soon as I get rid of this cold.
Thanks once again, and Happy New Year.
Kitch.

Hello quarryman.
I eventually managed to go to Toxteth Cemetery this afternoon. The office was locked so I ventured off on my own!!  I gave up about half an hour later but on my way out a man asked if he could help me. He showed me the book of all the graves and then took me down to the plot. I was so grateful to him because there was no headstone. Without him I would never have found it. It has restored my faith in humanity!! At least I now know where my grandparents and a child of 3 are buried.
Thank you for your help as well.
Kitch.
