Hi, I have James on the 1871 Census as being married to Jane with 3 children - Thomas, Arthur and Sarah Ann. James was born in Birmingham about 1829. I have no parents for him at present and I do not know when he married Jane. He could possibly have been married before he married Jane, now looking for him on the other Censuses.
Many thanks
Wendy

Many thanks for the information, I think there is every possibility that this is the correct family. Thanks again for your help it has moved me on a little further with the Brecknells.
Kind regards

I had to give up on the 1851 census last night. I have no idea where he is. Might be worth posting again to ask for a specific look up. Don't forget to post the details that you already know - preferably a census as this helps enormously.
The BMD indexes are free to search at Ancestry at the moment.
kind regards, Arranroots ;)
