Geoff E , or any helpful soul, Geoff found Sarah Pinder ( PINDAR ) on the 1841 census , I see that she has a lady of 73 yrs living with her called Ann, I was wondering if this Ann was a Pinder or a Green ( Sarah's maiden name ) if Ann is a Pindar, then I have totally got the wrong mother for Sarah's husband, hope that all make's sense. from Eilleen.
-
The old lass was a PINDER.
-
Not necessarily her mother in law though - it could be an aunt etc.
if Ann is a Pindar, then I have totally got the wrong mother for Sarah's husband
-
Thankyou for the quick replies, I have been so busy begging look ups for someone else, my brain has been scrabbled and for the last few weeks I have felt like I belonged to a totally different ancestor line, but now I am going to put all my effort's and brain cells and powers of persuasion :) into building my much yearned for branch of Pindar's ( Grandma's maiden name ) so please be there for me. returning shortly ;D ;D Eilleen.

Sarah PINDER (of Long Sutton) was the widow of Edward PINDER - they had a son Edward in 1821 who appears in 1841 and 1851 censuses with Sarah.
Edward was buried 18 April 1825 aged 36
Sarah was buried 31 March 1876 age 80
I would imagine that Edward was the son of George and Ann, bap Gainsborough 17 Sept 1788 .... in which case, Ann could well be the mother in law of Sarah.
-
Who's a clever boy then :) thankyou Geoff E , you have got me back another generation, have to find siblings now, obsession, obsession, keeps me out of trouble ;D Eilleen.
-
Just to let you know that the marriage of Edward PINDER and Sarah PALIAN/PAILIN (perhaps the one bap 1796 Long Sutton) took place at Horbling 25 July 1813 and not at Gainsborough (which some IGI entries suggest).
-
Ah bless :'( they were only married for about 12 yrs before he died, on the plus side ::), unless they had loads of twins , I will only be looking for a few siblings for there son Edward born abt 1821. Eilleen.
-
As my BIVRI disks have an extra one (compared with IGI), I'd better give you
George 5 July 1823 (buried 6 Sept 1829 age 6)
-
Geoff E, what is a BIVRI, and does this mean George is a brother to Edward ??? Eilleen, don't forget to tell me when I am bugging you :) or asking to much. Eilleen.

BIVRI2 (British Isles Vital Records Index, 2nd Edition) is a set of disks sold by LDS which has lots of baptisms and marriages
http://www.genoot.com/downloads/BVRI2/
George has parents with the same names as those of Edward's parents. He was baptised a couple of years after Edward was, in the same church. It's not unreasonable to suspect that they were brothers.
-
Geoff E ,
thanks to you , I have been trawling through the IGI, and found all the children with parents called Geo and Ann Pinder/Pindar, for Gainsborough, so it looks like there could have been a Charlotte Pindar christened 16th July 1787, died 6th Sept 1787. and a marriage of George Pinder to Ann Eggleston Gainsborough march 1787, more investigating to be done, but thankyou for putting me in the right direction. Eilleen.
-
Hi Eilleen - glad you think you might be getting somewhere!
There were several aged PINDERs buried in Gainsborough in the 1830s and 40s. One of interest to you may be Anne, 7 March 1842 age 73 ... I think that may help finding her baptism. ;) You may also find a George PINDER a couple of years older who is worthy of consideration.
I'm very good at joining up other people's dots! :D

Re 1851: read this http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.britisles.england.nth.general/4465.2/mb.ashx
Unfortunately, the Genuki page for Northants doesn't seem to be working. Usually, if I want to know about a place, I put (for example)
Genuki Gainsborough
into Google, and find a decent page at the top of the hit list.
