Please could anyone with access to the parish registers for Long Sutton look for the baptism of Charles GRANT born abt 1806 Long Sutton (according to census), and for his marriage to Susannah, maiden name not known but born about 1808 also Long Sutton?

Hi Barbara.

The IGI has a 10 June 1835 marriage at Holbeach to Susannah BOOTH.

The IGI baptisms for Long Sutton are lacking 1806-12.

In the few years before that, there were a few GRANT (of Francis and Elizabeth nee HAWK, married 1797) kids baptised.

A Francis GRANT (wid) married Harriott WROOT at Lutton 1808

Burials:
Francis 21 July 1834 aged 69
Harriet 10 May 1851 (70)

One BOOTH kid there 1805, son of Josiah/Joseph BOOTH and Priscilla nee GOODMAN, married 1796.  Joseph in Sutton St Mary in 1841.
Burials:
Joseph 19 April 1850 (78)
Priscilla 7 April 1828 (55)

the marriage looks promising and I realise there are gaps for that area on the IGI, so am hoping someone has parish register access for the baptisms

I haven't got access to Long Sutton PR but the Marriage Indexes 1700 - 1837 for Holland East Deanery confirm Geoff's finding:

Charles GRANT to Susannah BOOTH 10.6.1835 at Holbeach.

Not much help I know, but as Tesco say .............. !!

Having looked up the marriage on freereg, I see that the bride was from Sutton, so that's excellent confirmation
