Not with it today but the 9 is meant to be a bracket next to the mother. Hope it helps. It was the only Elizabeth in 1851 with a father David.

Hi Badgirl,
Thanks for that.
I have had a nightmare with this part of my "family". Elizabeth married my g.g.grandfather and had 4 children with him, but died aged 30. He then went on to marry my g.g.grandmother and he had another 8 children with her, plus adopted  2 "Evans". So placing 14 children with the right parents....aaargh!
He was buried with his 1st wife and a baby (1month old) .
That seems like the right family, as one of the adopted is David Evans 1850 Merthyr. I'll go see if i can find them on 1861 with another son Evan (1854) as he's the other.
Again thanks, Jane

Thanks Anna,
I've had some brilliant help since being here, all down to stallc getting me to come over.
I'm off to Wales next week and have been invited to the colliery my grandfather worked at after prompting from the lovely Cardiff for me to get in touch with them.
So, yes, it is a great site!!

Thanks Cas, would have replied earlier but had to go to hairdressers....cant be going to visit with all my grey showing!!
That is them.
Elizabeth's not really mine but her children were and I've lost some of them along the way. Thought they may be with grandparents, but then I think 2 of her brothers ended up with her and my g.g.grandfather.
Need to get digging again.
Be in touch soon, Jane
