Hi Carol,
This message board is for emigrants to South Africa - you would be better to post it on the Surrey board. However i shall try and help if I can...
A few questions..
1. When did he emigrate to RSA - with or without parents and lived where?
2. Which county was David born in? Did they also emigrate here? Where was Lucy born?
i have access to most census info from the UK so maybe I can help you.

Hi
Unfortunately don't know when he came to SA. It seem, without parents. He lived in Uniondale, South Africa untill his death in 1888. His parents were Thomas Stewart and Ann Polter (Poulter), don't have date's of birth or places of birth.
David was born in Farnham, Viney, England according to his death certificate. He was married to Harriet Hibbert. Lucy was born in George, South Africa in 1852. She had brothers William and George David. David's parents were William and Sarah, don't have her maiden name or their dates of birth or places of birth.
Thanks for your kind offer
Carol
