Title: Hall Loughrea Galway
Post by: robeena on Tuesday 28 March 06 06:02 BST (UK)
Interested in contacting anyone with relatives surname Hall or connection. Anywhere in Galway but especially around the Loughrea, Killnadeema area. Three of us are trying to piece together the ancestry of these people.  We are situated in Australia, England and America so if anyone can provide information please help. My particular Halls are Richard Hall & Ann Deely and Thomas Hall and Margaret Burke. Thanks in advance.

Just a side comment.  There was a draper shop in Loughrea called "Halls".  Might be a connection to your family.  It was run by the Moloney family in the 1970's.

Hi Kilcreest,
Yes I am connected to the Halls who had the Draper's shop.  It was run by John Hall until he died around 1913 and then taken over by his daughter Delia Cunniffe nee Hall. Delia died early 1970 so perhaps she had sold it by then.  I have been told that no relatives are still living from this family.  However, I would be pleased if anyone can come up with a photograph of Delia.

Very good.  I will be in Loughrea in a couple of weeks.  I will inquire around.
