Could anyone help with a look-up on the 1871 census for the following family also a marriage for the parents which I assume would be C1864.
I cannot find any of this family in the 1881 census eventhough they did not emigrate to Australia until the end of 1882.
I also cannot find a marriage of the parents ?
Frederick HORWOOD born C1840 and his wife Ann born C1840 and their children
1. Walter born 1864
2. Alfred William in 1867
3. Arthur in 1868
4. Jessie in 1869
5. Reginald in 1871
6. Harry in 1874
7. Ellen in 1876
8. Edith in 1878
9. Samuel in 1880
All of the children were born in Lewisham except Samuel and the only Samuel I can find that fits was born in Bath in 1880.

Do you have any access to the 1841 census that we might find Frederick and Annie.
Unfortunately I cannot find their marriage so I do not know Annie's maiden name.
I also cannot understand why they do not appear in the 1881 census.

To find their marriage and/or Annie previous to her marriage, you will need to know her maiden name.
Would her maiden name appear on any subsequent Australian certificates for any of her family? Otherwise, you will need to purchase a birth certificate for one of the children born in England which will give her maiden name.

I will check the death of Frederick and Annie in Australia and see what that turns up.
I have checked Ancestry for a marriage for Frederick and there are none at all that would fit around that time and I would assume that they were married as they would appear to have been a family of some means having so many servants.
But one never knows !!!

There was a marriage for a Frederick HORWOOD and an Ann Elizabeth FARMER in St Olave, Middlesex, Sept Quarter 1853. Frederick was from that county according to the Census that I found him on.

No, unfortunately all things that I tried here did not reveal anything.
I have put this on the backburner for now as I have a fair bit of info. on the children etc and am concentrating on others family branches.
