Title: Have you seen her?/Found her completed
Post by: CU on Wednesday 11 October 06 15:25 BST (UK)
Please can anyone help  ??? I am trying to find out where my Great x2 Grandma was buried.
I have her Bapt, all the census and now her death certificate but can not find where she is buried.

Trealaw, Treorchy and Ferndale cemeteries have all been checked. She is not there. Llanwonno Parish church has also been checked. The local newpaper was also check for a report on her death but none was found. I have the following information.

31 October, 1916, Ann Thomas wife of Morgan Thomas aged 83 years (really 87 years) of 8 Railway Terrace, Ynyshir. Informant Brynely Thomas, Grandson, 137 Aberhondda Road.
Does any local know of a small graveyard in Ynyshir?

Thank you.

Hi CU,

Maybe not much help, but this link has info on Ynyshir library  that may be able to give you info on local churches/church burials.

http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/wal/GLA/Ystradyfodwg/Ynyshir/

The only other in the area, other than Pontypridd, I know is Cymmer Chapel, this no longer exists

I have checked the burial index, (scanned it to my comp) that was printed in the local papers in 2004, of names of all the graves they were moving to make way for a new road, but I cannot find her there against date.

This link has most cems listed in the area, (just for info)

Good Luck

Thanks for the information Cas. I am going to try and make a list and work through it. I don't understand why she was not buried at Trealaw, all other  family members are there. She may not have a grave stone but I may be able to find her in the register. Thanks  ;D

I have the Trealaw index, rechecked but could not find her.

You maybe able to locate on the original registers, Treorchy library have copies of the originals but normally want a burial number to look up.  You could ask based around date to see if they can find her.  Also the internment record could be sent via email.

CU, just a thought, what District was the certificate issued from ? (and sub district that may give a clue) if not what about the electoral roll for the informant,?
I found one of mine this year who died aged 101 in Camden  London her cremated remains were buried with her mother and father in Abercynon! Found that from the council/grave records!
newbie  ;D

To the memory of Annie
Beloved wife of Morgan Thomas, Ynyshir
Died October 31 1916 aged 85
Also of the above Morgan Thomas
Died June 14 1920 aged 80

So she was a good bit older than her husband.

Oh Thank you Gareth. You're a Star.
Yes Morgan was her Toy Boy. She was bapt in 1829 and he was born in 1839.
She did use to knock a few years off when the census man came though.  ;D
