Hi
I am trying to find :
Edwin Bowers and his wife Emily (nee Sherratt) on the 1861 Census for either Macclesfield or Congleton they were married in Macclesfield in 1858 and had 1 son Herbert he was born c1860.
Can anybody help please?
Have found Emily as a widow in 1871 living in Congleton.
Any help would be appreciated.

There are 9 Edwin Bowers in the index for 1861.That doesn't account for those spelt incorrectly and mistranscribed. All are either son or brother to head of household.
Unless you can give us a few more clues,eg when and where born ,or post here the details from any other census you have found the family on,I think it is going to be too difficult to confirm that we have the right one.
I'll sure have another go at trying to find him once I know more.
