Hi
I was wondering if anyone could possibly help me.
My Cousins father wants to research his family history.
He knows that his Grandfather was a Leslie John Johnson born 1904 Hill Cove, Falkland Islands.
The fathers name is Edward Johnson, mothers name Elizabeth (nee White) born in Watergore, Somerset.
He would like to obtain a copy of Leslie's birth certificate & feels it maybe registered in Port Stanley, & also details of Edward ie: his date of birth, along with parents names.
As he is not on the internet, is there any way he could send of for the above information or is there a website that I may be able to research the information for him.
Thank you for your time

There are a lot listed on Google
I just tried

Hi Maria
I'm a Kelper, and this post rather leapt out at me ;D
The Tripod page is an OLD OLD one of mine - with a dead email address; I'm still around as a person but I haven't progressed a whole lot on that page or updated it in years, actually can't even get in to update it anymore (I was off the internet for a long time)
The Hill cove birth cert will be registered in Stanley and writing to the Registry Office would get you the documentation you want. I think they may charge these days, too.
The other avenue you can try first perhaps is writing to the local "paper' the Penguin News with your Genealogy & Historical Interest Story, and ask for any descendant or helpful people so to either write to your cousin's Dad or to email someone . You may get people willing to nip down to Registers Office, or Graveyard, or even someone in the Camp. I'll ask my Dad too - it's 's surprising what he knows of the old folk after hearing all the stories and names discussed over the years!
Did your cousin's family stop in FI or all leave - I do know of at least one JOHNSON family - but unsure if it's the same. PM me if you want, with any extra info which may be too personal or recent to put on public show ;D
Cheers Chay ;D ;D ;D

Penguin News
You can Snail Mail or email them.
They have an On-Line version though it's not full edition. It comes out every Friday.

Hi All
Maria & I have made contact and it's confirmed the FI JOHNSONS spoken of here are the ones I know - in fact I went to school with a g-grandaughter of Edward JOHNSON and was speaking to one of his grandson's yesterday ;D ;D.
The Falklands is a small place in a small world, thanks to a great big beautiful world of Rootschat ;D
Cheers
