I have found that a lot of times the birth year is off a little. Censes are not always correct. The John Roberts I found his father was William and year was close

hi guys.

haven't posted in a while and have some more information.

Jessie Roberts was born on 29th january and the father is listed as Thomas Roberts, unlike the marriage certificate where he is listed as John Thomas Roberts. his profession is listed as a general labourer.

Jessie's marriage certificate also says John Thomas Roberts and that he was a deceased labourer.

Mary Ann died on 18th April 1947 aged 92 of nephritis (kidney disease)

hope this helps
 :)

More details on Mary and John's marriage certificate

Married July 19th 1899, he was 50 and she was 44, both apparently widowed. She had no profession he was a labourer they both lived in Lyme Regis and JT's father was William Roberts a butcher. The vicar was William Jacob and the witnesses were James and Susan Perry. If anyone has any new info or ideas on how I can go forward I'd be extremely grateful.

Thanks
