I am looking for marriage details for;
Richard Hubbard born Newington approx 1813/14
Hannah ?? born approx 1811 ??
Their daughter Harriett Hubbard was born 1838.
All census records for Harriett give Rainham as her place of birth ?? were parents married there.
Harriett was baptised Upchurch.
Hannah her mother unfortunately died 1840 aged 29 years
? following complications of childbirth.
She gave birth to a daughter Hannah 4 th June 1840
and then she died 11th June 1840.
Hannah ( the baby ) died April 21 1841 10 months.

I have been trying to search city ark my pc will not let me view records ?? ( not very pc literate ) dont know which size document to open up ( there are so many )

The Medway cityark is a great resource but it is time-consuming to wade through. Pages take time to download. You definitely need broadband.
Not sure why your computer won't let you view records though. ???

Have just worked it out.
The lower down the list the later dates ( have started to open up files ) my pc was obviosly struggling to open up files.
Yes I do need broadband. I have to use dial up so I can use facility when I am not at home. Couldn`t do this if I was on broadband, but will consider it :)
Now back to City Ark will let you know if I find record

Can't help you with the marriage I'm afraid but did find Richard Hubbard baptised 6-2-1814 in Newington, son of Richard (Newington labourer) and wife Ann. There were several other children too - if you want details of them please let me know.
No sign of Richard and Ann's marriage in Newington. Also checked Hartlip and Upchurch without success.
Are you having any joy with City Ark?

I have record of Newington Baptisms and 1841 census Upchurch.
All census records for my Harriett born 1838 say she was born in Rainham.
Unable to obtain records marriage city ark as I do not have broadband, scans took ages to download.
If you say that you have looked at Upchurch and Newington for marriage for Richard bn 1812/13 and Hannah same period I dont know where to look next.
The only place is Rainham.

Not sure what to suggest next. I have had a look at City Ark for you from 1834-1837 and can't see a record of their marriage in Rainham either. I have checked several other parishes for you as well but still no luck. Its always possible that they married in Gillingham - its just a case of working through the city ark records - which will take forever without Broadband. I will check some records for you when I get a mo and see whether I can see them. I'm looking at the period 1834-1838. Is this the period you believe they would have married in?

I believe Harriett born 1838 was ?? first child, but who knows. Another child ( Hannah ) was born 1840 and 3 days later Hannah her mother died. ( age 29 ) ( little Hannah died 10 months old )
If the mother had ?? a weak constitution she may had another child/children beford Harriett 1838.
If the mother Hannah was age 29 when she died 1840 she must have been born 1810/1811.
So earliest possible dates for her marriage is 1830-1837 ??
I suppose she could have married young age 17/18.
Making marriage earlier. Just guesswork.
Richard was baptised 1814 He died 1897 age 83.
So I guess if he married age 17 ?? 1831--1837 is best bet.

I don't know if you've made any progress with this or not but there are some *new" records on the "Record Search Pilot" http://www.familysearch.org including ................
Richard HUBBARD m Hannah HOLLANDS 26 Sep 1835 Gillingham (near Rainham)
You should be able to find it http://cityark.medway.gov.uk/ in the online parish registers

Thank You soooo much, ;D ;D I had given up ever finding marriage record. My only bit of gueswork was Hannah was first cousin of Richard.
My great grandmother Harriet Hubbard was born Rainham 29/07/1838 so fits in with this marriage record.
