Post by: MarMnkly on Thursday 30 November 06 20:44 GMT (UK)
Hello, please can you help?
I am looking for a Patrick Connors aged about 13 in the 1901 census for Merthyr Tydfil and his brother who I think is called John. Any help with finding them and other family members would be grately appreciated

best wishes

Both Patrick Connors age 12 and John Connors age 9, both born Merthyr Tydfil, are descibed as inmates of the 'Industrial School' in the village of Merthyr Vale.

Hi Pritch, thankyou very very much - it might be them!
Can I be really cheeky and and ask if there are any other Connors in the Industrial School at the same time. I'm wondering if there are any other brothers or sisters or other adults?

Hi again

No, Patrick and John are the only two with the surname Connors in the school.

Thanks Pritch, I've just realised that the 'Industrial School' was the Truant and Industrial School in Quakers Yard - for boys aged 8 -14.
It would have just been in Merthyr Vale district. I wonder what the story is on these boys!

Thanks for all your help

best wishes
