Title: Which is her Maiden Name?

Hello all

Just a quick question as my brain cells deplete by the second  :o

On my GG Grandfathers Birth Cert his mother appears as:

Mary Osburn
late Denzilon
formally Horsford

Which is her birth surname - I cant work it out  ???

Her maiden name is Horsford.  She was married firstly to a Mr Denzilon.

Hi Jo

IGI shows a Mary Horsford or Denziloe - John Osburn marriage in 1846  (St Andrew by the Wardrobe) - 21 June.

and the marriage index has Mary Denziloe - John Osburn - June 1/4 1846
London - volume 2, page 110   ;)

If you order the marriage certificate it should show her father's name and occupation so you can track down her birth.

Thank you so much Helen - I thought I had found the Osburn marriage but London threw me  ???

The IGI entry confirms that this is the right marriage for me though with both her names being used.

Perhaps him being a Mariner is what took him down there  :)

Amelia Horsfield  25  Netherbey, Visitor  Unmarried Annuitant

There were Denziloes in Netherbury Dorset on the 1841 census.

No coverage of Netherbury on the IGI.
