Could some kind person help with a look up for the above named couple who resided at 16 Thomas St. Rusholme from. 1905 - 1925 possibly longer to see if they had any children.
Names and dob. of any siblings would be most appreciated in order to continue our search.

Hi
The last available census to search is 1901
According to freebmd they only married in the March quarter of 1905 in Bromyard - Hereford/Worcester Ref Bromyard volume 6A Page 739
The births index from the September quarter of 1911 shows the mothers maiden name alongside the birth entry, so you could search for Mitchell births with a mothers maiden name of Cleveley
You can now search the full GRO index yourself free of charge at

Choose “Complete BMD Index Ranges & Images 1837-1983

Thank you Carol for your help. I will check the website out to see if I will see any sign of children for this family.

Hi again
If I have the right Emily Cleveley on the 1901 census, she appears to have had a son in 1901. She was living in Yorkshire. The head of household was William Lockett widower but apart from Emily - the other family boarding in the house were William Hatton & family who I suspect was Emily's half brother - see 1891 census below. William was b Gloucs - Forest of Dean

Carol I don't think this is our family. I took your advice and looked up the site however no births were found. Emily would have been 24 yr in 1905 and 30 yr in 1911 possibility too old for any children.
In respect to the Cleveley's: They were born in Powick, Worcester; head george; wife mary ann; son william, john, alfred, herbert, henry; and daughters emily & eliza(beth).
Eliza was my grandmother and birthed my mom in 1920 and subsequently died in 1922 at age 42 years. She lived with Emily and Ernest but when my grandmother died we have no idea who took care of my mom. Even my late mom hid her past and it would only come up during difficult episodes.

Hi
I've now found them on the 1881/1891. If Eliza was living with Emily & Ernest when she had your mum - is it possible that your mum was brought up by them when Eliza died?
If only the 1911 census were available -all our questions would be answered
I'm not too familiar with electoral rolls - did they show children under 21 in those days?

Hi Carol what can I say but thanks again, you are my angel today.
Will you send what you found on the Mitchell's please no rush. I have to leave this computer and get ready for work tomorrow.
You probably won't see this until Thursday as it is 2:00 a.m. across the ocean.
Take care, M. :-*

Hi
Sorry - I should have made it clear that it was the Cleveley family I found on the 1881/91 after you mentioned the Worcester connection
I have looked in the 1901 for Worcester, Hereford & Stafford counties but there is no Ernest C Mitchell although there are a number of Ernest Mitchell's. Without his age, birthplace, fathers name it is almost impossible to say which one he is. he may have been born in a completely different county.
A copy of Ernest & Emily's marriage certificate won't tell us where he was born, but it will give his age and his fathers name and occupation which could help find him on the 1901 or in the BMD index
