Title: legacy file sizes
Post by: Simon G. on Saturday 24 February 07 00:27 GMT (UK)
I wonder what size your .PAF and .FTW files are?
Not sure about .FTW (I only use that for opening gedcoms in now, so I can look at the two files at once)...but back when I was using PAF (going back a few years admittedly, and quite a few less individuals), I could zip my file down to go on a 3.5 inch floppy.  Never been able to do that with Legacy...even when I did a basic import when I started using it I had to go to using CDs.

You could export a GEDCOM from Legacy and import it into FTM and PAF just compare file sizes I guess.

115mb does sound terrifying.

My FTM workfile is a mere 1,728kb at the moment and contains 1515 individuals and 449 marriages.  Mind you, I do not have any embedded photographs or media files.
