I am looking for information re Joe Rivers Wyatt from Derbyshire England arriving 1902.He worked for William Martin of St John Baptiste. His wife to be,Jessie Booth arrived Winnipeg C1904 and they married soon after.
In 1908 Joe and Jessie took up a homestead in the Buffalo Hills and farmed there for the rest of their lives.
They had three sons ,William,James and Frank.
Any information such as passenger lists,Census or B,D,&M greatly valued.

The marriage is listed on this page for Manitoba Vital Stats:

Have you tried www.ancestorsonboard.com ? Records there now go up to 1919 (from 1890) and there is a Mr Joe R Wyatt in the right year who looks like the man you're after.

Thank you Grey Squirrel
I think Joe R Wyatt aged 31 in 1902 travelling Liverpool to Montreal is the right one. Also Jessie Booth 29 in 1904 Liverpool to Montreal would be his bride.I assume that in order to determine the names of the ships I will need to subscribe to WWW.ancestorsonboard.com.

'Rivers' is a fairly distinctive middle name, so this is probably his birth registration:
Joseph Rivers WYATT
March Quarter 1869, Hayfield 7b 649
Hayfield covers part of Derbyshire
We might find him in the Censuses of 1871, 1881, 1891 and (possibly) 1901....

Joseph Rivers Wyatt was born 26.12.1868.The "Rivers" comes from his maternal grandfather Rivers Banks (no kidding).
Joe went to Canada in 1902.
The family lived at Blackshaw Farm Glossop.
Cephas Wyatt and Jane (Banks) were parents of Joseph Rivers and Ellen listed as grandchildren 1871.Thomas 27 still at home 1871 married 1874 (Sarah Jane Stone) and came to Australia.
A brother Joseph b1842 married 1863(Martha Garlick Hadfield) and came to Australia. They were my great grandparents.Their first child was born Maryborough Queensland 10.8.1864.
Joseph Rivers Wyatt married Jessie Rose Booth 1904 Winnipeg,Manitoba. This was shortly after her arrival from England.
Ellen/Helen,sister of Joseph Rivers Wyatt married 1903 in UK,Jack Kirk Goldthorpe. They sailed from Liverpool for Canada on May 24 1907 ss. Virginian.
The 1901 Census has the remnants of the family still at Blackshaw Farm.
Many thanks for valued information.

I believe I have the relevant articles from this publication which concern the Wyatts and their ancestors.
Much appreciated J.J.

Current day Wyatts have a ranch "Wyalta" where they breed Appaloosa. This must be close to the original homestead. Not sure but it must be close to Calgary.James Wyatt was referred to as Mr Appaloosa and inducted Calgary Hall of Fame.
