Title: Clive Cottages, St Fagans

I am interested in the history of Clive Cottages in St Fagans, can anyone help.

known Info: a block of 4 cottages

Checked postal directories and found a Arthur Gardner at No 2, also a Percy J. Edwards at another.

Sparse info I know but I'm hoping we have some local historians out there.

hi dan, i see your not far from st fagans, if its possible it would be worth your while taking a trip there as the village has changed very little over the centuries and combine your trip with a visit to the welsh folk museum and you will have a cracking day out, oh! and don't for get to have a pint in the plymouth its still there, kali. & if you google clive cottages st fagans there is a picture of them also pics of the village and castle, cheers

Thanks to Kali and Rhondda for suggestions and photos, but I'm afraid I had made the visit and taken photos myself before putting out this topic.  I am more interested in the date there were built and any other info that will built some history to the cottages.

I have now resolved this topic by visiting St Fagans today and by chance met the librarian who kindly permitted me use of their library.

For those interested I found the info in the estate rental charges of 1858-58 were it refers to the construction of four new cottages, on land acquired from Lord Dynevor, next to the Calvanistic Methodist Chapel.

dan, if you read up on the history of st fagans you will find everthing is conected with either windsors , plymouths, clive's etc, they were good people who were the landed gentry in st fagans also lots of other places like barry and barry island, but eventualy the castle and grounds were given to the people as a historic gift for all to go and visit, and if i can add what a lovely day out.
