Title: Christopher Jobson Liddle
Post by: airdlass on Wednesday 02 May 07 19:20 BST (UK)
Looking for information on Christopher Jobson Liddle. He was born in 1880 in Kirkwall, his parents were Peter Liddle and Margaret Elizabeth Liddle nee Jobson.
He died in 1918 in the Royal Infirmary, Montrose. However his usual residence was Lower Powburn,Laurencekirk. He married Elspet Rennie in 1909 in Oldmeldrum, daughter of Thomas Rennie and Elspit Booth.
I have 3 children so far for them: Christopher Jobson  born c1913 - died 1946 in Bangor Hospital Broxburn, Elizabeth, and Margaret, who registered her brother's death in 1946.

Hello there, I was just going through the posts and noticed you had no replies to yours. This will now bring it round again and perhaps you might get a reply.

What sort of info are you looking for? as you seem to have his birth, death and marriage, do you have the census records?

Jean :)

Hi Jean
I guess I was hoping to find some descendants of this family perhaps living in the area and also perhaps gravestones. Have looked in Laurencekirk churchyards but as yet have not come across any Liddle that might be connected that I know of. I have yet to try Montrose churchyards.

Have you looked around Orkney for the Liddles?

thanks for your reply - yes I have been researching them in Orkney as well. Was interested in this particular person as I now live in the area so thought I would see how far I would get with this branch.

Hi
Peter Liddle, grandson, was the illegitamite son of Christopher Jobson Liddle and Elizabeth Shearer. Peter died in August  1901. I haven't  followed up on Elizabeth yet! thanks for the entries - every little helps.

Hi Jean
thanks - it's good to get a reminder sometimes of "things to do". I find I get so focused on a particular line until I can't go any further and then move on to the next one.

Many thanks
Fiona
Beautiful and sunny in Laurencekirk!! :)
