Title: 1901 Look-Up Please - Name: Tilley
Post by: Rosie J on Wednesday 13 June 07 20:25 BST (UK)

Would someone kindly look up a family for me on the 1901 census?

I am looking for Alfred James TILLEY born aprox 1858 Clevedon Somerset, his wife Margaret and family.

I would expect the family to be living in Llangeiner, Glamorgan.

Thanks for your help.  Rosie

Hello Susan,

Thank you very much for the look-up.  There are a couple of extra names on the 1901 that I did not have plus the bonus of the mother.

Best Wishes to you.  Rosie

Sorry to pester you again Susan but could I ask you, if you find a spare moment, if you can see any other TILLEY families are living in either Pontycymer or Llangeinor in 1901?

Thank you for your trouble.

Rosie

Hi,

Sorry, cant see any others in the above places but there are more in Glamorgan.

There are 2 or 3 families in Eglwysilan and others one scattered about. I have no idea of where is near to where you are looking but if there are other towns you want me to check just let me know.

Thank you Susan.  I don't know where Eglwysilan is either.  Don't worry I have some work to do on my tree for now with the siblings you found for me yesterday.  I have spent most of the evening going through the Ancestry BMD's quarter by quarter finding the relevant certificate references.

Cheers.  Rosie.

Hello June

Thank you for responding to my thread.  Charles TILLEY is a possibility but I haven't been working on the TILLEY side for very long and there are big gaps in my tree.  If I find anything I will let you know.  Poor Charles was very young when he died.  25.  That's a shame.

By the way, I have HARRIS in my tree also.  My HARRIS family were from England.  Are your HARRIS's from Wales?

Thanks for the location information.  Caerphilly, I am familiar with.

Regards, Rosie
