Is anyone able to tell me please the name of the Church that is now being used for the New Life Centre at Wigmore Way in Lincoln.
Thanks Rosie

Is this the one on Newland by the traffic lights?

Maps from 1842-83 have it as "Independent Chapel".

1900 Directory has it as "Congregational Church"

Genuki suggests the building was opened in 1876 http://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/LIN/Lincoln/lincoln_church_hist.html

Yes at the junction with Newland and Mint Street, many thanks for the info I passed it on a visit to Lincoln last week but couldn't see what it had been.  I am actually looking for a baptism c1805 in the St Swithins area (baptisms either side were at St Swithins) so am now searching for nearby churches so I could search PR's at the LDS and this was the only one I couldn't put a name to.  Will look at the web site you gave me.
Many thanks

The nearest Anglican church to St Swithins would have been St Peter at Arches (moved in 1933) at the Silver St/High St corner.

I will try that film next. (I have already tried St Mary le Wigford and St Michael on the Mount and of course St Swithins) Didn't think to look at Genuki previously but certainly a help. Thank you.
