Hello once again Yogibear,I take it this is a follow up to;
http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,250048.0.html
After looking at the Census Entries,I strongly favour Edward being the son of Parents Robert and Jane Griffiths living at Esclusham Below Parish in Denbighshire in 1851.See HO107/2508/263/12.However I don't see the Family or any corresponding members of the Family in 1861.In any event,all this speculation,and perhaps wishful thinking,is no substitute I'm afraid for you obtaining the Marriage Certificate,that I spoke of in the previous thread.

The corresponding Marriage that I spoke of in the GRO Index is January Quarter1867,Volume 11b Page 443.

Its OK Ricky it is one of those places I have spoken of previously,that if you blink when passing in a car you miss it!On Multimap,if you enter Johnstown,and of course choose Johnstown Wrexham,zoom in and keep following Wrexham Road you will come to the area known as Pentrebychan.It is also one of those places one should avoid really if fit and healthy,for it is home to what is known as Pentrebychan Crematoreum!

Hi all
Ricky - now you should have asked me about Pentrebychan :)
Yogi - the North Wales BMD ( http://www.northwalesbmd.org.uk/cgi/birthind.cgi ) has 2 Edward Griffiths registered in Wrexham around that time:
1844 as WM/005/53
and
1846 as WM/007/1
also (an outside possibility) one in Ruabon in 1846 as RBN/007/76
nothing for 1845
These are the local references.

Also, the 1851 census for that area is not available on Ancestry. They may be there on the original film. If you're near an LDS Family History Centre, you could order the film for the area and look through. Tedious but that was the way we had to do it before Ancestry, etc. indexes.

I have had a bit of a look at this one before, you could be right Gadget (again) ;) it might be chapel :'(
I'll take another look.

That area was predominantly non-conformist, Paul. William is right though. If yogi gets the marriage cert, she'd at least have the father's details.
