Title: Charlotte Carter 1901 census lookup please**Completed, thanks**
Post by: mongojoby on Thursday 01 November 07 15:24 GMT (UK)
Hi,

I would be very grateful if someone could look for details of Charlotte Carter (b. 1886/87, Moorby, Lics) from the 1901 census.  At the time her family were in Mingingsby but Charlotte is not with them.  However I know she must be somewhere as she got married in 1906, and suspect she is probably a servant somehere close by (as I have found elder sisters working as servants away from the family home at similar ages on previous censuses).

Thanks for your time, and any help you can offer.

Thanks Ricky,

That is great.  Hope you don't think this is too cheeky, but would you be able to tell him if there is a Thomas Smith Jackson (future husband) living there as well?

Hi Ricky,

Thanks again.  it seems most likely Thomas Smith Jackson is the one registered in Spilsby 1885,  but have no evidence to back it up.  Thought it was worth asking on the off chance he had been a servant at the same place;  I am intrigued by his middle name, as it is the same as Charlotte's mother's maiden name (and admittedly a good deal of others!) so hoping there might be some kind of family connection as she was from a gypsy family and really struggled to pin down her roots!

Regards
Jo

Hi Jo

Your welcome, but just to be certain he is the right one, the marriage cert will tell you.
