Title: Rollitt and Killingar
Post by: sgrollitt on Thursday 06 December 07 13:39 GMT (UK)
I know my male Rollitt line back to William Rollitt born about 1740 in Elkesley, Notts. His parents were Benjamin and Mary. I note the marriage of Benjamin Rollitt and Mary Killingar at Normanton-Upon-Trent, Notts on 25 September 1732. Mary Killingar was christened in Normanton-Upon-Trent on 16 April 1707. I also note that Killingar and Rollitt are historical surnames of Lincolnshire. There is a Killingar mentioned in "Lincolnshire references in Nottinghamshire Marriage Licences 1591-1853". If this refers to the marriage above, and because I know that Mary Killingar was born in Notts, does this mean that Benjamin Rollitt was from Lincolnshire? He would have been born there about 1705.

Can anyone please help?

Thanks,
Simon
