I hope the picture is of use to a family member. :)
The memorial tomb is in Sunninghill, Berkshire, where I have been looking for my own family. All the information caught my eye. It may be possible that on the other side are the sons of Michael and Alice....
:) :)

Hello Lesanne. Isnt the internet a wonderful thing. I am in the midst of doing the family tree of my Brother in law and typed in Duffield + Syston and came up with this ;D ;D
Michael Duffield the father is BILs Great x6 Grandfather. Alice his wife was in fact his second wife and a minor. Michael and his first wife Mary, seem to have had a chequered life together in that Michaels father in effect cuts him out of the will leaving an annuity to his wife Mary and expresses regret that the pair are not living together!! He even tries to entice Michael jnr back with an offer of a rent free property together if the pair start cohabiting again!! Unfortunatly Mary dies shortly after and Michael goes on to marry Alice. I hadnt realised they had all these children though. I found a link on the National Archives to Gipple/Syston for the pair up in Lincolnshire and a reference that Michael was living in Hurst in Berkshire, but this new info is just great.
Can I ask where in Sunninghill the memorial is please, that is if you can remember after so long?
Thanks very much again for posting it
Best wishes
Jackie ;D ;D

PS I wondered what had happened to Michael as he wasnt buried in the family vault in Chelsea ;) ;) Is he actually buried in this tomb do you know

8) Jackie, Its been ages.... good to see you.
You're right abt remembering..... eerrrm.
All Angels and All Saints.... I think off the top of my head. I will have to look it out, although on old puta... :-(
Its by the entry gate to the Great Park at Windsor. That tomb is in the front of the churchyard, I believe to the left as you look at church.
I'm sorry I don't know anything else other than the image I took. Just hoping it would be of use to someone.... :D
Can always have another look when I go visit family agn in the summer... JUST GIVE ME A SHOUT...
haha... Lesanne x

Hi Lesanne, yes nice to see you as well. Small world isnt it ;).
Could it be St Michaels and All Angels ??? That seems to be the local parish church in Sunninghill. I was thinking I have an afternoon off on Tuesday and may persuade Sis to forgoe the sticky bun we had planned and go for a troll around a graveyard looking for her Hubbies Rellies ;D ;D

Yes, that sounds more like it. Hope you find it... :D Les

Cheers ;D ;D

I take you found them by other post. Other family too??
best wishes Lesanne.

Yes thank you Lesanne, they were both buried in that grave ( their inscriptions were on the other side of it) Also their son in a quite large grave nearby - note to self - if you have a gravestone dont make it pink granite, its impossible to get a good photo ;D ;D. You were spot on with your directions ;D ;D Dont know how you remembered after all that time ;D ;D
It was quite busy in the graveyard that afternoon funnily enough, must have been about 10 of us wandering around looking. Pity the church itself wasnt open, looks like they have some quite nice stain glass in there too
Thanks again for all your help
Jackie ;)

Hi,
Stumbled on this thread while looking again for burial site of Michael's grandson Charles Crutchley and his wife Eliza at Sunninghill Church. I'm interested that you have details of Michael Duffield's ancestry, always elusive to me. Michael is my 6 x GF and the top of my pedigree. Would appreciate any knowledge. Mike
