Hi Eilleen
Lucy should have been an E not an A, my mistake, and I think in the 1901 she tells a porky from where she was born, I think its Norfolk Ellingham, as she is on the other census, saying that is where she comes from. Her husband come from Suffolk

Hi Ricky, this one you found is puzzling me , if Joseph is the son of William ,and William was about 17 yrs , when he fathered him , how would he end up with the baby or as it seemed William's parents did for a while . any chance of finding if he married this Elizabeth , who is classed as his wife in 1871.

I think the Harriet person in the house was actually WILLSON.
-
Hi Eilleen
I still think the William King in the 1871 is the correct person, from the 1851/61 census's, can find him on the other one's, and he still is with an Elizabeth
Hi Geoff you could be right could well be Willson
ricky
-
OK, who's been on the sherry ;D or does ones glasses need strengthening ;)
no insults I promised :-[
besides you two are helping me, with this serious stuff, and it's keeping me out of mischief.
so , shall I put her down as Willson :)
Eilleen.
-
Hi Eilleen
As Geoff says the Harriet is Willson on the 1871 census, there is a possible marriage in 1869 for Bourn
William King
Dec Quarter
Bourn
Lincs
vol 7a
page 718
only person on that page is an
Elizabeth Wilson
looking on the 1881 census, Mary from the 1871 must have been 4 months old,

great, I got Harriet Willson's parents . Thomas Willson and Sarah King , so she fit's in to the family.
Ricky that marriage William King to Elizabeth Wilson seem's good, pleased she did'nt have another L in her surname .
Eilleen.
is there an old saying about families living in the stick's or fen's ???
the above would mean the William on the 1861 who is single, is'nt mine ???
