Hi mikej,
I too am researching the Maggs of Clutton, the earliest of which is Samuel, born about 1691.
One arm of the family emigrated to Australia in 1852 and another much later in the 1960's.
Maybe we can share our information.

My wife's family are direct Australian descendents of the Maggs family of Clutton. Would also be keen to swap notes.
Some of the Maggs (James and Harriet Maggs and family) came to Australia aboard the Ticonderoga in 1852 - but his cousin - Joseph Maggs and family, also arrived about the same time, though not on the Ticonderoga. Both families settled in Victoria. My wife's branch went to Tasmania around 1900.
I have just started to trace this side of the family and am very grateful for the detailed work already done by a number of others - see Malcolm Laird's fantastic site http://member.melbpc.org.au/~mall/ if you haven't already done so.
Regards
Rohan

I have some Manchip relatives from Bridgwater, as opposed to your spelling of Manship, but I've read the family spelled it either way. Mine are William Manchip (n.d.) married Ellen Milliar (n.d.) and produced William Manchip jr. (1879-1969) I may have the dates for the first William and Ellen but not at hand. Is any of this familiar to your lineage?
