Welcome - what exactly are you trying to establish from the Cert ?

When was it ?

The birth certificate is for a birth in 1931.
I am trying to locate info relating to the births and deaths of the parents.
Regards,
Bill

One step at a time.

I have looked in the birth indexes, and as it is possible that the person who's certificate yuo have could well be alive still, I wont post the details. However, looking at the only Lloyd-Davies birth in 1931, it does say that the mother's maiden name is Roberts. Does that tie up with the cert?

So the first step I would say is to find a marriage for Richard Lloyd-Davies to Kathleen ? ? ? Roberts.

I'm assuming the birth was registered as Lloyd-Davies ?

I ask in case the fathers name was included altho they werent married, but the birth regd as Heard ? ?

and are we talking about a Newhaven registered birth ?

Silly me - I've modified now to read 1931!!!

Good point - praps we need to wait till Bill confirms.

Though I must admit I have just searched 1930 back to 1925 marriages! Found 3 Lloyd-Davies, one of which was in Wolverhampton as was the birth I found, but none Richard!

If you want details, just ask!

The person whose cert' we are discussing is still alive but of no use to our research.
The surname is Lloyd Davies.
The father whose occupation was of independent means was Lloyd-Davies.
There is no hyphon on the cert'.
The mother was a Heard; no mention of Roberts was far as we know.
Newhaven District.
Seaford Sub-district.

No marriage of Richard Lloyd-Davies to anyone 1924-1932 incl.
(4 Lloyd Davies marriages found)

If it is under Davies - that's a whole different ball game! Must be hundreds!

Presumably the birth must be under Davies then too - as I found the only Lloyd Davies birth in 1931 and the maiden name was Roberts on that.

Beginning to look more tricky.

is Heard a less common name than Davies?

Heard is not an uncommon name but with her unusual Christian names I thought  that I would have more luck than I have had.

from 1920 you have to search the index qtr by qtr, for a BMor
sometimes it helps if you locate the eldest known cild to the couple and then work backwards from same.

but you would assume that they were born prior to 1920 with a child born in 1931.

working on looking for them!  ;)

seraching the fullBMd 1866-1920 for a Kathleen Heard birth only brings up 24 options.
none have a middle name of Fiorenza Vittoria but one does have a middle initial of F:~

HEARD Kathleen F    mmn. Smith   West Ham.4a   753   Q4   1915

Interesting, the only Kathleens in the Marriage Index for some years either side of 1931 are actually 1931 - and 2 of 'em !  Wrong spouse names tho - Ransome and Heard !

i cannot see a Richard Rangi Lloyd Davies at all,
tried Richard R* Davies but none had Richard R L Davies
in fact there is only one birth wuth a middle name Rangi (in full)) and that is Cecil Goodger.
there was a Richard R T Davies mmn. Rose, i don't think this is him.

confuddled.

The two names sound to me like they may have been born elsewhere in the Empire and came back to Blighty after WW1.

Maybe a look in the overseas births will be an idea

Just a thought...

Many thanks for the trouble you have all taken on my behalf.
I have obtained info relating to his service during WW1.
He enlisted 2/3/1916
Mobilized 9/1/1918
Medical discharge 5/12/1918.
I can assume from these documents that he had his heart condition since birth and place of origin of disability as Dunedin, New Zealand.
His address given upon discharge was
Dr Lloyd Davies, Glanafon, Haverfordwest, Pembroke.
This, I hope will connect with info received relating to the marriage in 1921.
Should I be able to make a connection between New Zealand and West Wales I will be only too happy to share it with you all.

I have ascertained that Richard Rangi was the son of the eminent physician John Morgan Lloyd Davies of Pitt Street, Dunedin.
John Morgan settled in Port Chalmers in 1881 where he commenced practice and two years later became resident house-surgeon at the Dunedin hospital.
Dr Davies was married to a daughter of Mr Robert McLaren of Dunedin and had three sons and one daughter.
Any help on this family would be appreciated.
TIA,
Bill.

Richard Rangi did in fact die before his son was born.
Richard was born in Seaford in 1931.
Would be most interested in any info you are able to share.
Regards,
Bill.

I have traced the Lloyd-Davies element via New Zealand back to Carmarthenshire.
Kathleen Fiorenza Vittoria Servatt Heard married RR#2 in 1921.
KFVS was the daughter of Robert Wilkes Heard who was a member of the Heard family of Pallastown House, Kinsale, Co Cork.
I am unable to locate her Death Certificate nor her Birth Certificate.
If you can share what information on the "market gardening" you have would be appreciated to enable me to fill out my notes.
TIA,
Bill.
