Hi Crab4
Can you possibly let us have DOB for James Walker and who the rest of the family are you have on 1901? As you already know his grandfather's name, can you give us his father and mother's names, it will definately make it easier to check

Hi
Think I might be able to help out here. :)
James & Barbara Walker with family are living at SCOTS HILL, Croxley Green on the 1901. Scots Hill is right on the edge of Croxley into Rickmansworth.
I'm not absolutely sure which marriages or births you are looking for so if I have it wrong, apologies.
James Walker married Barbara Emma Francis in Amersham Buckinghamshire June qtr 1885. Ref 3a 675.
Peter James Walker born Dec qtr 1894 Watford ref 3a 604.
Watford is the registration district for Croxley Green & Rickmansworth.
As you mention the fact about Peter J having something to do with films, I wonder if he worked at the old Denham Studios just outside of Rickmansworth.
Hope it's helped a little bit.

Hi
Peter J Walker married Harriet Brookes 4th quarter 1918 registered at Watford, Herts ;)
Presume that this is his first marriage. Do you know the names of any of the children from his second marriage and when they were born? This will give their mother's maiden name and we can take it from there.

Hmmmmm, yes I see, you mean the Barbara SYMONDS??
Does it also have Symonds for her brother and sister's births??
I know this seems like 20 questions, but I'm sure we'll get there eventually :)

Hi
Hmmmmmmmm,
This is turning into a real poser ???
I know you said he was married twice. Was your mother and her brother and sister from the first marriage? I'm trying to get my head around this so bear with my stupid questions ;D
As you have found ALL of them with the mother Symonds, I would get your mother's birth cert and get her mother's full name, it may just give us some clues.
Never come across this before its got me flunnoxed ??? ???

Just thought I throw into the mix - I have a lot of Walkers from Rickmansworth in my tree, in fact I know a couple of them who are alive now and still living in Rickmansworth. My mum even has a book written on them! I haven't been able to match up any of your names so far, but will go and have another look at them. Most of mine are further back than yours as my connection to the Walkers is a little bit obscure, although I do have them going back to 1780 ;)

Hi
2 things that may interest you.
The Walkers on Scots Hill were living in the cottages between the 2 pubs The Plough and The George & Dragon. All of that stretch was demolished to make way for the hill widening and "Windmill" development.
Below those dwellings, and "behind", were the offices of the film company "MGM"
(Metro Goldwyn Mayer) but the year span of when they were in occupation I don't remember.
(It is available on the web somewhere)
That building still exists but now as The ScotsBridgeMill (http://www.thescotsbridgemill.co.uk/)

Hello,
Just for the record, Peter James Walker and Harriett Brookes from Scots Hill where my great grandparents. Peters arm of the Walker family come from Winchmore Hill, Bucks. This maybe Jlo why you cant match them up. Unfortunately they had no connection to the film industry but worked for Croxley print and followed the printing industry into Watford. Peter unfortunately died at 41 years but the family remained in Watford and worked in printing until Sun Printers closed down.
