Title: Tubber School/St Manchan's
Post by: Notinpastyet on Friday 28 March 08 09:47 GMT (UK)
I've just been very lucky & been given a lovely little book 1948-1994 St Manchan's N.S., Tubber. It is a celebration for their 50th anniversary for the school. There are quite a few picture that cover the past 50yrs,But they have added some older pictures before the new school was built all with names included-The Girls N.S 1912-girls look between 12-14yrs-Boys N.S 1920,they look between 5-12yrs.Girls school 1926.The book is a little gem for anyone with an interest in the Tubber area.Sorry to say I have not a clue where you may get a copy of this book.

Hello Notinpastyet

St Manchan's School, Tubber, started as separate schools ... Tubber Boys' School, and Tubber Girls' School. They were amalgamated in the 1940s, and have been administered
as a mixed school since that time. The School's website shows the Principals since 1862. http://homepage.eircom.net/~tubber
