Title: Fotherby in Newark
Post by: lisingreece on Monday 19 May 08 10:39 BST (UK)

I have a John or Henry John Fotherby who says he was born in Newark about 1810 plus.

Just before the on line records for Newark.

Can any one help?

Thanks
Lis

There is a Henry Fotherby bapt 19 jan 1819 in Newark he died though 5 Feb 1819 his parents were William and Ann, this is the only one to come up on IGI. The only John born 1813 Harby Notts, no Henrys on the 1851 census.

Yes thank you for looking.

He is not being helpful as in one census is from Yorkshire and one from Newark.

Still we carry on looking!

with best wishes Lis

Hi Lis,
I've found a Henry Fotherby baptised 23.03.1812, at Newark St.Mary.
His parents were William and Elizabeth (Elizth.)
Hope this helps.
Paulene :)

Hi Lis,
Just found a baptism for a William Fotherby:
11 Jun 1783 at St.Mary, Newark
Parents: Joseph and Mary
This might be William, father of Henry.
If you look on IGI it might give details of spouse.
Good look with the trip to Newark - interesting museum to visit if you get the time.
Have a good trip.
Paulene :)
