Title: Herbalists
Post by: Hopton on Thursday 29 May 08 09:00 BST (UK)
Hi,

My Grandfather and Great Grandfather were both Herbalists and I was wondering if there was some sort of directory of herbalists that they may have belonged to (a bit of a long shot I know).

My father says my Grandfather took a correspondence course and exams, would this have been the done thing in the 1920’s. My Great Grandfather became a Herbalist sometime after 1901.

Would anyone know if any records would be kept anywhere?

  Many thanks

    Janet

The National Institute of Medicinal Herbalists has apparently been going since the 1860s  http://www.nimh.org.uk/ they might be able to help?
