I don't know if this look up is possible but here goes: I'm trying to locate a family with the surname CUTHBERT in the 1891 Census. According to a burial record I've found they were living at 106 Pitfield Street Sacriston, is it possible to find them based on this information?
Here's hoping. ???

Does the burial record give any christian names as the 1891 has 219 entries for Cuthbert in Durham
Unless somebody has the Durham 1891 on CD and can lookup the address for you we need more info
The only one I can find in Sacriston in 1891 were at 150 Stafford Row - Thomas & Margaret with children Ann, James, Dorothy and Joseph

Hi Harton,
The only Cuthbert family I can see at Sacriston (Witton Gilbert) is at a different address - 150 Stafford Row. They're Thomas & Margaret and 4 children (here they are in 1881: http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?db=uki1881&indiv=try&h=4313970)
Do you have any other details? :-\

The burial information I have is that it's for William Cuthbert buried at Sacriston St Peters 3 June 1890, aged 3months.
I've already got the family at Staffordshire Row, Thomas is part of my extended Cuthbert family and I wondered if William was another branch that I hadn't yet found.

There is only one William Cuthbert birth in Durham on freebmd or 1890 so perhaps a copy of his birth cert could help

Thank you all for your help, I lived in Sacriston during WWII and can remember being taken up Findon Hill to see the lights come on in 1945 :)

You weren't too far from my grandparents then, they lived in Annfield Plain

I believe this William Cuthbert to be my great grandfather. My grandfather was Joseph who had four children, Thomas, William, Elsie and Mary. Joseph died in 1921 and the the family was from Witton Gilbert. My grandmother was Dora Hewison who later lived over the Co-Op in Twizel Lane and her eldest son was Thomas Cuthbert who was the Co-op Butchery manager in Chester-le-Street.

VALED - We share a link in Dora Hewison (I'm a Hewison from north west Durham also). Perhaps you'd like to PM me so that we can share info - my PMs aren't working.
