Title: Bristol look up request..I think..
Post by: Ria77 on Thursday 18 September 08 10:51 BST (UK)
Hi guys,

I've hit a brick wall, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

John Johnson born in Avon, Bristol on 27/11/1755, married Elizabeth Jordan born c1759 in Wales, They had a son George Johnson born in Mangotsfield, Wales not sure on birth year, George married Amelia Lovell. I have more info on the Lovell familly, but could anyone look up John and Elizabeth.

Im new to Root's so any advice on lookup requests would be great.

Thankyou so much

Ria

Hi Ria,

There is this baptism from parish transcriptions:-

George Johnson - 4th September 1768 at Mangotsfield, Glos
Son of John & Elizabeth

And also this marriage:-

John Johnson (of this parish) & Elizabeth Jordan (Castle)
27th October 1755 at St Philip & St Jacob, Bristol - Banns

Hi Ria,

You could try checking the IGI at www.familysearch.org, what you need to look out for is an extracted (from parish records) entry as those that are submitted are not always accurate  ::)

Hi Ria,

New to this site.  Put in a search for "Johnson" to see what came up.  Surprised and excited to see that all the details that you have posted are attached to my family tree.  Hopefully you are still on this forum as I noticed that this is an old post from 2008.  If you could get in touch I would really appreciate it.  Thanks Tan
